The Brewers moved to 4-0 with an exciting 3-2 win over the 2021 runner ups, Newark Pirates. The Pirates jumped on top in the first on and RBI single by Andres Hernandez. Newark starter Andre Narvaez left three runners stranded in the first then retired the next six Morris batters. An error leading off the 4th opened the door for the Brewers. Vince Gozalez reached and Tom Juskus ran for him, promptly stealing second base. Carmine Capriglione doubled him home to tie the game at one. But Narvaez prevented any more damage. Greg Jacobson matched him, holdings the Pirates down for five innings on just one hit and walk.
Gonzalez led off the 6th with a double of his own, with Juskus running for him again. Two walks loaded the bases. Juskus would score on a wild pitch. With 2nd and 3rd an no outs, Hernandez retired the next three.
Erik Pedersen relieved for Morris , pitching the 6th and 7th, retiring all six batters he faced. Mike Thomas came on in the eighth, and after giving up a lead off

The Morris Brewers continued their torrid start with a 13-2 win over the Old Bridge Yankees. The win improved their record to 3-0. RBI singles by John Mendez and Joe Adams in the 2nd inning opened the scoring. The Brewers would add three more the next inning. Tom Gaboda led off with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. Carmine Capriglione double d him home and moved to third on a Bob Kelly single. Singles by Erik Pedersen a pitcher Greg Jacobson plated two more runs. The Yankees made it 5-2 by scoring two in the 4th. Tony Perconte doubled andRei Santiago reached on an error. Perconte scored on a single by Craig Burfeindt. A sac fly by Ray Gambino scored Santiago.
Adams singled with one out in the 6th, stole second and Vince Gonzalez knocked him in with a base hit. The Brew Crew broke the game open in the 7th, scoring seven times on four singles, 2 walks and 2 hitbatsmen. Six batters had an RBI in the inning.

The Brewers moved to 2-0 with a 4-2 win over the Staten Island Bombers in their home opener in Basking Ridge. For the second straight game, Morris hooked up in a pitching duel between Greg Jacobson and Joe Wells. In the 2nd inning, the Bombers loaded the bases with two outs but Jacobson got out of it by striking out Hector Diaz. Wells kept the Brewers off balance with his assortment of offspeed pitches, but the Brewers finally got to him in the 4th. Tom Juskus singled and stole second. With one out, Vince Gonzalez singled him home.
SI got even in the 5th as Wells walked. Frank Somma ran for him and scored on Sal Motorado's hit. In the 6th inning, Bob Kelly singled, Erik Pederson ran for him. Gene Cerulli's sac bunt moved him to second. Pete Scalera's single gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead. Juan Gago relieved Wells. Juskus singled and, after an out, consecutive walks to Gonzalez, Shupe and Tom Gaboda added two more runs.

The Morris Brewers opened the 20022 season against perennial contenders Basking Ridge Giants at Stadium 31. The game began as a pitching duel beub-led again. tween Brewer's Greg Jacobson and Ed Moravec of Giants. Both teams had base runners over the first three innings but none scored. The Brewers broke through in the 4th inning. Erik Pedersen singled, Tom Gaboda walked, and Carmine Capriglione had a bunt single to load the bases. Vince Gonzalez, behind 0-2, doubled in two runs. Randy Shupe followed with an RBI single and Bob Kelly's groundout plated a fourth run.
The Giants answered right away in their half of the 4th. After a leadoff walk, Don Sachau doubled. One out later, Phil Forman single them both in. They would tie the game at 4 in the 6th inning. A walk and an error put runners on second and third Sachau's single made it 4-3 and an RBI groundout by Moravec tied the game.

After a two year absence, the Morris Brewers have returned to USABL. Several players from their past formidable team are back including pitcher Greg Jacobson, infielders Pete Scalera, Tom Gaboda, and Erik Pedersen, and outfielders Joe Adams and Tom Juskus. Joining the team are pitcher Mike Thomas and catcher Vince Gonzalez,last with the Maplewood Railriders, outfielder John Mendez, formerly of the Knights and Tinton Falls Blue Jays, firstbaseman/pitcher Randy Shupe , veteran firstbaseman Bob Kelly, former Livingston Dodgers infielders Mike Snell and Carmine Capriglione. The Brewers will be managed by former Bernards Patriots and Maplewood Railriders manager Gene Cerulli.
